| Ida was chosen for the production by an Executive Board all of whose elected members were female. In the contemporary climate of militant women's liberation, it is doubtful whether a predominently male Board would have chosen Ida. Indeed, the Board did receive letters in response to the publicity mailings which indicated that some people who had seen many of our previous shows would not attend Ida because of its negative connotation with regard to women's lib. |
